i had knee surgery a month ago, and i already feel like im gaining weight, since i havent been playing my regular sports lately.... but im eating healthy, i was just wondering if there were any exercises to do that dont involve bending my right leg at all? any suggestions, i know i can lift weights and do sit ups, but is there anything else? thanks!

  1. Core strenght like the plank. Push ups, tricep dips Lay on one side and lift your leg straight up, pointing your toes down or straight, works your outer thigh very well. Sissors, good for the abs and your legs are straight. Hope that helps.
  2. There are lots you can do, like you said, weight lifting and sit ups, or push ups and pull ups,,,or you can get something like the red exerciser (http://www.redexerciser.net/), its a chair that you spin in and it works your abs (check out the site), I would imagine you could do it with out bending your leg. or like criagslist has exercise equip for cheap on it. Hope your knee gets better, and this helps.
  3. you should be seeing a physio. ask them for some exercises based on your specific needs, anyone answering is not informed enough to give you suggestions. if you don't want to gain weight then just look at your diet......
  4. the least stressful exercises you can for your body is water exercises, keep the one leg straight while you hold on to the edge of a pool ,and exercise the rest of your muscles.you weigh less in water.
