What are some good at home ab exercises?
I want to get in shape but the problem is that I don't know any at-home exercises that could work for me. So I was hoping if someone could help me out. First, what are some good ab exercises to do at home besides crunches? I want to flatten my chest and perhaps get some abs, but I don't know any other exercises besides crunches. Second, what does it mean to "tighten your abs"? I've heard this too many times but is there a proper way of doing it? Thanks for any help regarding this everyone. :)

- Get yourself an exercise ball. You can do a lot of ab exercises with one, and they're relatively inexpensive. Here's a few http://exercise.about.com/cs/abs/l/bl_core.htm
- sit ups

You should do this for the full 8 minutes. That is a good workout to start with. Work out every other day. I've been doing this the past month or so, now I do each exercise for 1 full minute each, and I do it 2 times. 1 or 2 minute break between. Other than that, do lots of cardio. Running, bicycling, swimming, etc. will help you lose weight everywhere, and you will get a nice flatter stomach and thinner body all around. You need to remember, working out doesn't necessarily give you a flat stomach, you need to do the cardio. Working out will give you a nice muscular build. Stick to it, and you will be looking great!
