What are some effective ways to exercise your brain?

It may sound a little silly, but I have been painting, and reading, however, since I have had to leave work and stay at home, other than exercising physically, and the above mentioned, I need more mental stimulation. There must be some tests, or things I can do to challenge my brain... thanks everyone. I have a degree in psychology and criminology, and do not have the access to school right now, otherwise I would enroll YESTERDAY!

  3. Crossword puzzles, mensa puzzles. If you don't already know how to- try to learn how to solve the Rubik's Cube. I think it comes with a book when you buy it now so you can learn how to do it. But it still requires focus, memorization, and concentration. You can also play online chess or something. Plenty to do to exercise your brain when you have a computer!

All the exercises suggested by the ladies before me are excellent plus I follow the quiz shows because I noticed that after a whiel the questions are the same> I even try to memorize the numbers instead of writing them and make simple calculations instead of the calculator> Reading is a good exercise and learning short poems>
  5. I've heard on the news lately that doing crossword puzzles really help to stimulate your brain and keep it active. Also, doing memory related games helps to stimulate the brain. I've heard of trying to remember what you wore or what you ate for the last couple days to get your brain going.
  6. Soduku and crossword puzzles,or logic puzzles. These all can be obtained in inexpensive magazine form or in your daily newspaper. Develop a hobby that will keek you occupied.

  8. crosswords are the best for the use long term memory, and decisive skills. Otherwise read a good book it stimulates the brain, and imagination. Or go online and learn stuff like flash or something take that time to learn which always good for the mind
