  1. Eat good yes. Run a lot or even walk whenever you can instead of bus, train, car and so on.
  2. The only way to loose weight, and keep it off, is to burn more calories than you eat. Therefore, you can eat lower calorie meals, or you can exercise more. My wrestling diet in high school was wheaties for Breakfast, a sandwich and fruit for lunch, and a salad from McDonalds (where I worked). I also allowed myself treats. If I ate a cookie, I would estimate the number of calories and run one mile to burn 100. So, a 200 calorie cookie would cost me two miles. You will have to determine how far you have to walk/run to burn a number of calories. I used a high end treadmill at a local gym.
  3. OK. First of all, why do you think you need to lose weight? Is it because you've done research into what a healthy weight is, or is it because you 'think' you're fat? If you really believe you need to lose weight, go see a doctor and find out for sure. Or even do a BMI calculation on the internet. Just type in "BMI calculator" into a Google or Yahoo search and you'll be able to find one. BMI stands for Body Mass Index and is a calculation done using a person's height and weight (and sometimes their age), to see if they're in a healthy weight range. Why not try this? If you are in the healthy weight range then you don't 'need' to lose weight. If you're worried about the way you look - don't. There is absolutely no point in stressing over your looks. Believe me, I know. I grew up in high school quite overweight - and although I've lost a lot, I'm still not at a healthy weight. However, I made some of the best friends of my life at high school - people who I'm still friends with; and they're some of my best memories. Looks are not everything - there is far more to life. The only reason anyone should ever 'need' to lose weight, is if they are medically overweight because then it becomes a health risk rather than a fashion thing. However, if after the BMI, you find that you are overweight, just eat sensibly and exercise regularly. And remember, you can make this fun! There is no need to go on a cabbage diet or something equally ridiculous because chances are; you'll get tired of it and you'll soon stop. The important thing to do is eat healthily. This means THREE meals a day. It may sound like a bad idea, but it's not. Your body needs food intake 3 times a day. Never EVER skip breakfast. Breakfast helps to kick start your metabolism in the morning. But when I say 3 meals, I mean 3 proper meals - not Macdonalds or KFC. If you have to eat out - go for something healthy; like a Subway with lots of salad - and stay away from French Fries - those things'll kill you. In terms of exercising, find something you actually enjoy doing. There are so many sports and recreational activities out there. Don't just run around the block 10 times (unless you actually like running). For example, I tried to go to the gym regularly two years ago, and wasted inordinate amounts of money. I lost a bit of weight but was miserable because I wasn't enjoying myself. Then, last year I joined a Karate club. I spend exactly the same amount as I did at the Gym, but I love it! And because I love it, I'm more motivated to go to my classes regularly. Just find an activity that you enjoy and try to do it at least 2 or 3 times a week. Most of all, if you have a particular weakness when it comes to food - like fried food, or chocolate, or sweet things etc; don't cut it out cold turkey. Because all you'll do is crave those things all day long and be miserable. Give youself small amounts. For example, you can allow yourself a small fun-sized piece of chocolate 2 times a week, as a reward for not eating it the rest of the time. Anyway, I hope this helps, and good luck! But remember, if you are in your healthy weight range, you don't need to lose weight. If you're not totally sure, ask your doctor. Because if you lose too much weight when you don't need to, that can also be a big health risk. Better to be safe and go to your GP.
