if i want to get in shape, what are some ways that dont take too much time?
i've got a pretty tight schedule, and i'm kind of lazy when i'm not doing anything (i'll admit it). i just kinda want to get toned, maybe in time for summer. i dont necessarily need to lose weight but i wouldnt die if i did. i'm almost 5'5'' and around 130 pounds? what are some ways to exercise that aren't too exhausting and wont take too much time out of my schedule.

- go out for a walk like every day for an hour, or very 3 days w/e and so and it works, you dont get tired and you lose weight.
- Buy one of those resistance bands. They're like a giant rubber band which serves the same purpose as weights. You can do it while watching TV. Most of them come with instructions.
- You can walk up the stairs to work or home. Walk around the block 2 times before you get to your car in the morning. Buy some 5 and 10 pound weights and pick them up when you get home. 10 minuets of running 3 times a week, or walk during your lunch hour
- walking is probably best for what you want. you could also do sit ups, press ups, crunches, squats, lunges etc when you get up or before you go to bed. swimming is great for an all over workout.
- First of all...woooo patd!! So excited for the new album! Umm...You're pretty much like me. I don't have time for anything extra, and when I do, I don't want to spend my time lifting weights and crap. What I found was that just by walking my dog with a friend everyday for an hour helped to tone my body. My legs especially. I also (on weekends) get up early in the morning to do yoga. There's probably a program on where you live that you can follow. It's very relaxing, and stretches you pretty good. Another thing I suggest is getting a cheap exercise bike from a second hand store, or one that a family member never uses. You can put it in front of the tv and use it when your favourite tv show comes on. That's 1 hour right there!
- I hear you!!! I finally bit the bullet and started to exercise. I don't want to go to a gym, or spend a lot of time at it. What I'm doing is getting up just 30 minutes early, and doing a 20 minute work out on the TV. It's really a 30 minute work out, but I taped it, and I fast foward through the comercials, so it's less than half an hour a day, and so what if I miss only 1/2 hour of sleep... If I waited to work out after work, or in the evening, it would never happen! LOL I feel the results already and I just started a couple of days ago! I did this once before years ago and it made a big difference. I also don't use all the fancy smancy work out equipment... just me, the rug and my taped worked out. If you have the "Health" channel or maybe "Fit" channel on your cable, you can tape these for free. I use our cable DVR feature, so it couldn't be easier. I taped a whole week of episodes so it's different every day and works all different parts of your body. Good luck!!!
- If you pretty much want to tone for the summer. And losing weight is not your major goal. I think strength training/weight lifting (also a natural heart rate boost) would be perfect to try. You can either use your own body weight; squats, look up isometrics for your stomach...they work awesome, lunges, maybe a few push ups. or you can add two 5-8lb weight into it and work those same body parts. Do 2-3 sets of 8-12 repetitions. And do it full body every other day. Stick to it, I think youll be pleased. Save time; Dont rest in between body parts. & do them slow so they really burn
- walk or ride a bike, it is quite fun. Running up and down stairs, exercising while watching tv. also exercise and meet up with friends for more fun :)
- Well some fun ways, expecially for kids are to jump rope every day or weekend, and hulahoop...that keeps you very fit and is fun! try it get one today at walmart for 5 bucks and try jump roping, if not you can ride your bike, but that seems like a lotta work... good luck happy valentines day!
