Ways to exercise more

What are some interesting ways to get exercise and tone muscles?

I'm not trying to lose weight, but I used to be really active and I haven't been lately. Looking for creative ways to stay active and healthy.

  1. Join a social dance class! Learn to salsa, foxtrot, or swing dance. It's a great way to meet people or to do with a partner if you know some one who is interested in learning :) Sometimes it's easier to stay fit when you don't realize you're exercising. If you'd prefer something solo, try modern dance, ballet, or a yoga class. These options can also increase your flexibility. Best of luck!

  3. Volunteer shelving books at your local library, you'll do a lot of bending,stretching and lifting and maybe pick up a good book or two.
  4. Yoga! It's relaxing, yet it really works your muscles. You'd be surprised! Many gyms have classes or you can find a yoga studio. You'll be amazed at how calm you feel afterwards. You don't have to be ultra-flexible to get started, just do what you can.
