What are some good ways to get exercise in while sitting at your desk at work?
I'm a conference call operator & I basically sit on my butt for 9 hours every day. I get to the gym a few times a week but I'd still like to be doing more for my body while I'm sitting @ work staring at a computer screen. What are some exercises I can do while sitting at my desk?

- suck in your tummy and hold for 10 seconds, do that alot, its like doing 1 situp everytime u do it.
- Cardio exercises would be hard. You would be limited to isometrics. You surely get bathroom breaks. Do jumping jacks during bathroom breaks for cardio.
- I do kegals . (for girls only)
- They have a thing that you put around your waist and it "bugs" your muscles and it gives you a workout. It was one of those paid-programming things on TV
- I saw a chair at a homedics store that didn't have a back to it and they said it worked your back muscles all day and helped with sitting at the desk for long periods of time because of the constant movement...it was a cone shaped chair in which you sat on the broad end of course...the only catch was that it costed $500, but it would at least work your back muscles all day long! (it works the muscles because you have to use them a little bit to balance yourself or something like that)
- check out this site
- You should be working and not thinking about anything else.. Now get back to work before I tell your boss on you! lol
- Seriously NOT been funny, but walk down the to toilet more often even if you don't actually need the small room! When in there stretch and do simple twisting and turning exercise... Also go and make yourself and your friends some coffee more often, they will love and you will have a perfect excuse to go to the bathroom again!! :-)
- look it up and see the different things you can do
- Butt-clenches! Also, take a break every hour or so & do a few lunges. Good for circulation as well!
- You can open and close your legs to work your thighs. The way you make it really work is by concentrating, doing it really slow, feeling great resistance. Imagine your legs are held in place by rubber bands and to open or close them you need to pull against the rubber bands. You can hold in your stomach. This will eventually improve your posture, always a plus. You can drum your heels and tap your toes for a mini-cardio. If you have on a headset and don't need your hands for a keyboard, you can put your elbow on the desk and raise/lower your forearm a few times. When you raise it, think of your biceps, when you lower it, push it down slowly and think of your triceps. If you have a pen in your hand it will look like you're thinking.
